When was the last time I wrote about being involved in a roommate world war? A long time ago, in fact more than 6 months ago. It's the first time since Beau and I moved in together that I've loved all of my roommates. I don't know what I would do without any of them now.
Reasons I Love My Roommates:
1. I never want to go out, because everything I would ever need socially is located in my own living room. Food, television, and great company right there at my fingertips. There are 4 of us, isn't 4 a party?
2. Elyse makes the best baked goods in the world (besides my Mama Llama) and is so willing to share them with us.
3. IPJ brings logic to our sometimes chaotic apartment. Thank you for translating the language of BB into the language of Beau to prevent hostilities between countries.
4. Beau keeps me laughing with bodily functions and she's always my date when I get free tickets to shows.
5. Elyse watches Supernatural and LOST with me, IPJ indulged my lame-ness and watched Tool Academy with me and Beau watches Who Do You Think You Are? with me.
6. Since IPJ moved in I've been able to order even more Chinese food, buy even more ice cream and make up even more songs. (Whiiiiiiiteouuuuuut.......whiteout, whiteout.)
7. My blood pressure hasn't once risen because of my roommates and Beau hasn't had any roommate related hives pop up.
8. Elyse constantly reminds me of my childhood and things I loved growing up. This keeps me young at heart.
9. We have tons of inside jokes and come up with new ones every day.
10. I come home from a long day at work and there they are. Waiting to hug me, love me, and make me feel utterly happy to be home.
I hope you have awesome roommates like I do. I leave you humming "I Don't Need Anything But You."

I've past the 100th!
I didn't even realize it but this is my 102nd post on this blog. I think I've been pretty successful at keeping my blog going. When I started in August, I honestly didn't think I was going to be able to keep it up. But here we are, 6 months and 102 entries later, still going strong.
I like having an outlet to talk about things in my life. (Or a place to post random nothings that tickle my fancy.) I also got my sister, Kate blogging again. I now know what's going on in her life, which is great because I forget to call her all the time.
I'm glad that you've stuck around through everything with me. Just think about all those good times:
*You met the Chinese von Trapps with me.
*We have lived through multiple World Wars with my roommates.
*You learned that despite what others might say, the pygmy hippo is really darn cute.
*The Yankees won the World Series and we celebrated together, while lamenting the fact that we couldn't go to the Ticker Tape Parade (or if you're me; the Tinker Toy Parade.)
*You were there when I celebrated the big two four and got my picture taken with firemen.
*Remember how loyal you were when I moved my blog due to my "Happy" stalker?
*I was able to teach you what NOT to do when talking to someone in Customer Service.
*We watched the "Total Eclipse of the Heart: Literal Version" video together over, and over, and over, and over again. Honestly we'll probably go look at it again today.
*I have given you multiple Zombie lessons in preparation of the eventual apocalypse.
*You have realized that I have met my one true love and soul mate; Avatar.
So, thank you. Stick with me and we'll make many more beautiful memories together.
I leave you humming "Looks Like We Made It."

All in the name of Friendship.
This Saturday, my roommate Beau ran in a 4 mile race. In Brooklyn. At 9:00 AM. That means we were up at 6:45 and out the door by 7:00. Again, on a Saturday morning.
A.) That was my first day off since last Sunday.
B.) I wanted to sleep in.
C.) It was 25 degrees outside.
D. No Dunkin Donuts.....
It was tough, to say the least. I wasn't even the one running! At least Beau was going to run to warm up. I was just stuck standing at the start/finish line waiting for her in the freezing temperatures....with the wind.....
But after everything, I was so happy that I could go. This was something she needed to do for herself, and she did. She ran that 4 miles in under 24 minutes. I got a little teary eyed when I screamed her name as she crossed the finish line. I was so proud of her. I think she was even more proud of herself for actually doing it. I hugged her, out-of-breath and sweaty, body and told her she did a fantastic job. She told me, later when she could breathe again, how much my cheering her on meant to her. I was glad to have been of service. That's what friends are for, right?

Roommates and WWIV
To whom it may concern,
I witnessed World War IV in our apartment last night. I thought for sure I would be able to go to sleep early last night. Yeah....that didn't happen. What happened was one roommate threatening to move out and the other collapsed on her bed sobbing. I'm sure you can pick out which roommates I'm talking about.
(Hint: It wasn't Elyse or I.)
I do not know if said roommate will actually move out. I'm not sure of anything anymore. If that's the case we're going to have to find a new roommate sometime next month. Yikes. I have a feeling I witnessed a friend break up. I've never seen one before, and I can't even begin to figure out what comes next.
So if after reading this post if I have not written, notify the proper authorities. Oh, but you have to call my parents in Ohio first. So, parents first and the police second. They'll need to go to my apartment and find me there, either a causality of WWIV or a basket case from the mental trauma.
Good luck with your upcoming mission. By the way, you can't choose to accept it or not because you've read this. You'll be a willing participant in the events that follow. (Sorry.)
Sincerely,
BB
P.S. I leave you humming "Breaking Up is Hard to Do."

Roommates, Good God Y'all
Beau and Macaroni were in rare form on Sunday and Elyse wasn't even there to help me. I call it World War III. They had so many ridiculous breakdowns and arguments I wanted to pull my hair out.
Beau: (bursting into my room and holding the Mom Calendar*) BB, Macaroni put his name on the calendar but no one else's.
Macaroni: It was taking you too long so I did it myself.
(both now standing in the doorway of my bedroom)
Beau: I'm sorry I have to work for a living! If you put your name on the calendar you have to put everyone else's on. That's the way it works.
Macaroni: Why does it matter?
Beau: It matters because I always put your name on it and decorate around it for you. Then you just put your name on, and no one else's, which hurts my feelings.
Macaroni: Well, you know what Beau? Grow up! Just grow up!!
Beau: (jaw tightens and she gets that "I'm going to kill you" look in her eyes) Grow up?! That's really mature Macaroni! You are such an asshole.......(slams my door and yells back down the hallway.)
Their exchange lasted all of one minute and I just sat there on my bed with my mouth open staring at the ridiculousness of the situation. I thought they were going to kill each other. Little did I know that when I woke up that morning I was going to be a casualty of WWIII.
Later that day they made up and we all laughed about it. We even had a rommie date, seeing Inglourious Basterds and having a wonderful time. A terrible day turned into a good one (thankfully.)
I leave you humming "War."
*The Mom Calendar is a day-by-day calendar where you write the names at the top of each column. Helpful for keeping track of what everyone in the "family" is doing on a daily basis.

Roommates
Living with three other people in an apartment gets exciting. Beau, Elyse, Macaroni and I all living in a 4 bedroom and learning to coexist. Late night kitchen talks happen regularly, of which I'm learning to love. I always want to sleep but find I'm having too much fun standing in the kitchen talking. Talking for up to hours sometimes.
If you think about it, it's really one of the best places to have a heart to heart. It's the only place in the apartment where food is readily at your finger tips. Lovely temptation. Also, you can cook dinner and have someone sit to keep you company. (Table and chairs brought to you by Beau's Mom.) Last night found the 3 lady roommates talking until 1:30 in the morning. We talked about everything from relationships to zucchini bread. World's best zucchini bread created by Elyse. Really, it was amazing. I told her she can make it for me any day, anytime. I completely appreciate that bread and her for making it.
Having three very different roommates helps me in so many ways. There's the whole learning to live with other people thing. But, there's also the whole keeping me happy and social thing. Yes, it might me easier sometimes to live alone where you can always do things the way you want. But, if I were to live alone I would probably become a hermit. Seriously, my roommates draw me out and force me to socialize like I need to. I genuinely enjoy each one's company for different reasons. Elyse is sweet and understanding, always lending a listening ear. Beau is strong and opinionated, never letting me settle for less while she offers good advice. While Macaroni eats all the experimental dinners I make, even if it could kill him (and compliments me as well). I really can't imagine the apartment without them.
Hopefully, I'll never have to.
I leave you humming "With a Little Help From My Friends."
