Point 2: World, Point 0: BB

Yet again, the World is against me.

Sunday morning I was sleeping, like most people do. It was 8:30 and I was minding my own business when I heard bagpipes (yes, I said bagpipes) then an extremely loud male voice yell, "Good morning, good morning, good morning!! It's a beautiful Sunday morning and a perfect day for a race!!!!!" Someone decided that Fort Washington Ave was the perfect place for a 5K race. And the starting line was...you guessed it...directly in front of our apartment. They had a loud speaker system set up and there were thousands of runners standing in front of our building waiting for the race to start. Well, you can imagine how angry I was. I tore out of my room like a bat out of hell, screaming about the injustice of it all.

Some of the key phrases I used:

"You have GOT to be kidding me!"
"Why does this keep happening to me?!"
"If he says anything about a beautiful Sunday morning again, I'm going to go down there and punch him the balls."
"Why, God????!!!!"
"I could hear his voice through my white noise!"
"Yeah, sure!!! Pick Fort Washington Ave for your stupid race, it just happens to be one of the most residential streets in Manhattan!!"

I calmed down once I realized all three of my roommates had been up for a lot longer. They, not having a white noise machine, had been awoken by the sounds of set up (which, I hear, were pretty awful).

Beau and I ended up doing our laundry nice and early because we refused to listen to that crap all morning. There was no way, at that point, that either of us was going to be able to sleep through the noise.

One of these days, I'm going to have to get a point against the World.....right?

I leave you humming "Maybe This Time."
