Kennedy Center Honors

My roommates and I watched the Kennedy Center Honor Awards last night. I was moved quite a few times while watching. The 5 being honored were:

Mel Brooks, Dave Brubeck, Grace Bumbry, Robert De Niro and Bruce Springsteen

Watching their life stories made me realize how strong that generation is. Those individuals came from nothing and made something of themselves. They didn't get famous because their parents were famous. It was raw talent, hard work and ambitious drive that got them to where they are now. I wonder if they ever thought, in a million years, that they would be so successful. They all deserve to be where they are and really, we should be showering them with praise and honors daily.

I leave you humming "Believe it Or Not (Theme from Greatest American Hero)."
