Did You Know?

Did you know that for the shot where Hans Gruber in Die Hard falls from the top of the building, Alan Rickman was actually falling from a 20-foot high model? He was holding on to a stunt man and falling on to an air bag. To get the right reaction, the director had Rickman dropped on the count of two, not three, like they had previously planned.

I would have made this face too:

When you tell someone you're going to drop them 20 feet on the count of 3, you should probably do that. It's kind of mean to put the fear of God into them. But it totally works for this scene.

I leave you humming "6 Feet from the Edge."

  1. I glad they shot it from that angle instead of from his behind, because we would have seen another sign of him being scared, and it wouldn't have been pretty.
